Start with natural light
Firstly, light should be your main concern. Natural light totally transforms the atmosphere of a small apartment. Keep your window area free and let the sunlight illuminate the room. Built-in joinery uses the full height and the exact width available, which is often the difference between adequate storage and enough.
What colours make a small Dubai apartment feel larger?+
Light, low-contrast palettes: whites, sands, pale greys and soft neutrals. The effect is less about the colour itself than about reducing the number of visual boundaries — the fewer strong edges between surfaces, the fewer cues the eye gets about where the room stops.
